Please visit my blog's companion site - inbedbefore10.blogspot.com, which I think is going to be the secret to this 'in before 8' thing. I stayed up too late. That's all. There are things to do, always. Emails to reply to. Vacations to plan. Arguments with your significant other to have. This stuff all takes time.

It's good to have a goal to work toward. If it was going to be easy than it probably wasn't going to do much good.

I woke up at 7:15. The facade of extra time made me greedy. Decided to make two eggs, over easy. Dropped bits of eggshell in the pan. Broke one of the yolks and burned my right thumb trying to get the bits of brown shell out. Failed to do so and ate crunchy eggs on toast while icing the burn.

The fish needed to eat too. Dropped half the can of rainbow colored flakes on the floor while dipping in for a second pinch for Carrot Fish and Hoodlum fish. Great. Vacuuming them up probably set me back another five minutes.

In before nine. It's not really the same thing.

A new start

A new year, a new chance to do things better than I did before. At my job, our office opens at 9 am. I'm notorious for being late, sometimes really late, but more often than not, just a few minutes. Sometimes twelve. My solution: in before 8. Why should I cut it close and just try to get in by 9, I figure. Who knows - I may even experience side benefits from starting my day earlier and being the first one in the office. In before 8. Sure, I can do it. Tomorrow is the 4th of January, my first work day of the new year.
